Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy

WHOA.  When did Blogger change their whole posting format?  And now I have to click a button to attach tags.  ARGH.

Now that I got that out of my system...

Here's some classic Bruce Timm art of good old screwball villain Harley and sarcastic villain Poison Ivy.  This is an attempt to purge that redesigned Suicide Squad!Harley Quinn and Birds of Prey!Poison Ivy out of your systems.

Take two of these and call me in the morning.  If you're old enough to remember that joke, bonus points for you.

have you read gotham city sirens 24? the issue makes your scan canon, as far as i'm concerned.

Ahhh...this is SO much better.

No, I haven't read #24! I kind of gave up after #17 or so. I've got to go find a copy now.

I've got a post about it scheduled for the next few days. these last few issues have been quite good - harley gets serious and goes after the joker. I think this arc started with number 23.

Now that you mention it (or something like that), H&I would make awesome Suicide Squad members together (with their classic look).

I wish one month DC just went back to the classic uniforms, pretending that the DCnU ones never existed. They should have hired Timm to do all the uniforms and looks. They always imitate him, anyway.

Oh, I wish they would go back to the Timm design of Harley for good! I don't know why they changed it.

There are so many classic costumes that were changed that I pine for. The one I miss the most? Adam Strange. I loved his Silver Age costume.

They shoud just sit Timm and Jose Luis Garcia Lopez together, and get over with it. It won't get more DC than that.

Both are pop art icons of different eras. When you see the JLU designs, for instance, it seems like they just did a punch of generic adaptations, but if you pay attention to detail and comare it, you realize its cleaner, more iconic, and more elegant. Faces are rarely generic with him.

Everybody knows that rubber suits are impractical and too hot, spandex looks better than ever these days.

I agree. But DC would never do that. Ugh.

What ever happened to Bruce Timm anyway? I've lost track of him. (I'm guessing he's just busy producing direct-to-DVD movies.)
