We Interrupt Our Regularly Scheduled Programming...

I saw this meme over at Sea-of-Green's blog, Hoosier Journal of Inanity, and she inspired me to fill this out.  I like surveys, and I'm not prepared to write another entry in my Silver Age J'onn J'onzz appreciate list.

So here goes.

1. What time did you get up this morning?
10:32, after hitting the snooze three times.

2. Diamonds or pearls?
Pearls.  Though I don't wear jewelry much.

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
Umm....wow, I can't even remember.  The second Night at the Museum movie, I think.  I really don't go to the theater much.  DVDs, Turner Classic Movies, and TV are usually what I rely on.  And like Sea, I haven't seen Avater yet, either.  I need to.

4. What is your favorite TV show?
Lost.

5. What do you usually have for breakfast?
An English muffin.

6. What is your middle name?
Marie.

7. What food do you dislike?
Fish.

8. What is your favorite album at the moment?
I don't really listen to albums.  But I've been listening to the Children of Dune soundtrack a lot lately.

9. What kind of car do you drive?
A silver Olds named "The Star Destroyer."  Yes, I named my car.  After Star Wars.

Um...fun socks.

13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?

15. Where would you retire to?
I'm staying here, wherever here is.

16. What was your most memorable birthday?
My 16th surprise birthday party.

17. Favorite sport to watch?
Figure skating, or anything at the Winter Olympics.  (Hello, biathlon!)  Summer--baseball, occasionally.  Everyone keeps switching teams and that makes me lose interest.

18. Furthest place you are sending this?
I have no idea.

19. Person you expect to send it back first?
No idea.

NIGHT.

22. What is your shoe size?
5.  Make shoe shopping rather difficult.  But I don't care much about shoes anyway.

33. Do you wish on stars?
No.  But I try to keep recognizing the constellations so I stay fresh.

34. If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
Green Blue, becuase it was my favorite, and Crayola RETIRED it when I was a child.

35. How is the weather right now?
Cold.  I wish there was more snow.  :(

36. What is your natural hair color?
Brown, never dyed.

37. Favorite soft drink?
Dr. Brown's Black Cherry Soda, though I hardly drink soda.

Enclosed places and not being able to breathe.

50. Salty or sweet?
Either.  I put like a tablespoon of salt on my food.  Yum.

51. How many keys on your key ring?

This'll be my sixth year...wow.

53. Favorite day of the week?
Saturday.

54. How many towns have you lived in?
One.

Sorry about your horse.

Your middle name is Marie? Is that a subconscious reason you like Martain Manhunter so much? You know...the MM similarity? And I'm simply assuming Liss is short for a first name starting with M.

I could never fill out something like this or rather I could, but I’d leave a lot of blank spaces. Anyway, we seem to have a lot more in common, except I’m not a pet person and then there’s pearls thing (not that I swoon over diamonds) and the Raggedy Ann doll. Dvds, definitely...Lost (of course!)...I’m with you on fish (although I love other seafood such as prawns and calamari). I’m a Spring only guy! You’ve answered Questions 14, 24, 30, 43, 53, 54, and 55 exactly like I would have.

Thanks. In a way it was a blessing that he went on his own becuase I had been fighting not to have him given away. He was a ripe old age (for a horse): 33.

Yes, Marie. And I took Marian as my Confirmation name so that's yet another "M" in my name bringing the total to three. I usually refer to J'onn as MM for shorthand. Now I just need to find a JJ out there...wait! J.J. Abrams directs Lost! Mission accomplished!

Geez, I love surveys. I usually add my own questions when I send them back to friends just to confuse them. Really weird questions like, "Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?" just to see what they say. The ones who don't know Batman are confused to say the least.

Pearls have a certain mystique to them, I think becuase they are the only gemstone created by an animal. I think it's pretty amazing that a simple creature can create something that shiny. Diamonds I find rather boring. I mean, they're just clear. When I was a kid they had a stand at the local fair where you could buy an oyster and the guy would open it up for you and you'd get a pearl in various colors and then he'd set it into a pendant for you. I was obsessed with that place and have little plastic bags of loose pearls to prove it.

Calamari--are you sure you're not Italian? I'm an Italian who doesn't like Italian food and Calamari is up there on my list of Italian Foods I Do Not Like.

Winter has a certain magic to it. Or, at least, snow does. That whole below-freezing temperatures and no sunlight part I could do without. Must...have...sun...the Mediterranean genes demand it!

I should've answered "I just discovered cold fusion" or something for #24.

1. What time did you get up this morning?
8:30 a.m., which I guess means my girlfriend has me partially trained in her absence. I took a nice long nap this afternoon to make up for that.

2. Diamonds or pearls?
Not Prince's strongest effort, with only a handful of decent cuts, not counting the meh title track. I prefer the Love Symbol album, to stick with that period. Still hit & miss, but comparatively pearls before swine.

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
I got drug to Alice In Wonderland, which was an empty vessel for nice scenery. This banks, and I have to hit the art house for Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus? For shame!

4. What is your favorite TV show?
I don't watch TV on purpose, but I like Degrassi: The Next Generation when my girl's got it on.

Something in a tortilla. Tough to drive with a fork in your hand.

Greed and willful ignorance, among a great many others.

12. Favorite item of clothing?
If I must wear clothing, my favorite article depends on the outfit.

13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go?
Sad to say, the one place I'm obsessed with visiting is the Monroeville Mall in Pennsylvania. I've come close twice, and its an ache that won't go away.

14. Favorite brand of clothing?
Nope.

Canada, depending on where the world sits by then.

Surprisingly chilly after a week of excessively sunny afternoons.

36. What is your natural hair color?
Brown with natural highlights that gets me tagged as "blond" sometimes. As if.

Nice to see another response!

"...pearls before swine." Which is, coincidentally, a very fine comic strip.

I'm left scratching my head over #16....

And now I really want a taco. And those cinnamon twists they have at Taco Bell....
