The Crocheted Manhunter

Okay, beat this for cuteness:

Oh yeah, and Batman.

A crocheted plush Martian Manhunter, made by an acquaintance of Mikeyb79 on DeviantArt.  So adorable!!!  I love his face.  You can find pictures of other crocheted Justice Leaguers on Mikeyb79's profle on DeviantArt.

Vril and Lryl Dox...

Are the cutest father and son ever.

I'm not sure who drew this, but I found it quite randomly via a Google search a little while ago.  I think it's kinda cute!

Happy Monday!

It's Monday.  Yay.

We all need a little pick-me-up, so how's this?

A lovely picture of Ice, a.k.a. Tora Olafsdotter, looking all cute and adorable and holding an even cuter and adorable-er baby seal.  Awww.  Look at the cute little expression on his face!  And his cute little flippers!  And Tora's holding him so gently so he's not all scared.  Wouldn't it be nice if comics had more scenes like this in them?  Who doesn't love cute little furry animals being held by sweet, nice superheroines?  (Judd Winick, I guess.  And maybe Satan.)

You know, this is much better than scenes like in last week's Generation Lost where Ice's outer self freezes off revealing her deep-down-off-the-chain ice elemental/bad girl center.  Let the Freudian analysis commence on that one.

Actually, forget the analysis and just look at Tora holding a baby seal.  It's a lot more relaxing this way.

Hooray for denial!

75 Favorite Moments in DC History: Number 67

67.  John Jones gets a dog. (Detective Comics #232, 1956, collected in Showcase Presents: Martian Manhunter Volume 1)

There's absolutely nothing of historical value in this story whatsoever.  I just think it's cute.

J'onn J'onzz, in his civilian identity of Police Detective John Jones, is chasing a crook across a bridge when he spots a Basset Hound adrift in the river below.  He decides to stop the help the poor little mutt from the freezing water, at the risk of losing the criminal.

J'onn takes his new pal home to his apartment, but the dog gets out and causes all sorts of trouble for the poor Martian:

I had to laugh at this, becuase this is something my dog would do to me.  I wish cute little furry animals would show up more in comics, because, darnit, they're cute, and there needs to be more cuteness in comics.

Though J'onn said that he and the dog (whom he named "Jupiter") would be pals forever, unfortunately Jupiter never showed up ever again.  I wish he would.

And, as an added bonus for the ladies, we get to see John in his boxers, in a moment that would make SallyP proud:

Hubba hubba!
